Sumarry I found on  wiki,

Hautpoul is a village wich belong to the town of Mazamet. The village is planted on a rocky outcrop overlooking the city, and is considered the birthplace of the city.
History

Clinging to a rocky outcrop overlooking the city of Mazamet Hautpoul the village guards the entrance of the Black Mountain and its vast forests.According to legend, Hautpoul was founded in 463 by Atholph 1st, Visigoth king who set up a community and draw the first outlines of a fortress.
But  under the reign of Clovis,
the Franks push the Visigoths in Spain, in turn occupying the village Hautpoul and give
a new dimension to the fortress.
At that time reported by the etymology, is called Alto Pullo which means "place perched"
and is moving Hautpoul, over the years.

In 1212, during the crusade against the Albigenses, Simon de Montfort
besieged the fortress converted to Catharism.
After four days of siege, he captured "the nest of heretics" and is dismantling the castle.
The residents  of Hautpoul, then, settled in the valley on the banks of the Arnette where they founded a small village of Mas Arnette will become Mazamet.
They develop the textile and paper activities to supplement the low incomes of agriculture
on the mountain lands of low fertility. The XVIth and XVIIth centuries, the religious wars of the village makes Hautpoul the theater of many skirmishes.
Turn the hands of Catholics or Protestants, it still shows a strong resistance
and affirms its strategic position.Shortly before the revolution, found Hautpoul François (1689-1753)
which is the title of Marquis of Blanchefort fallen into disuse, and dowry by his wife Marie de Negro of Ables (1714-1781), lady Niort, and Roquefeuil Blanchefort; a stele in the name of Marie de Negro of Ables appear late in the nineteenth s very fantastic story of Rennes-le-Chateau.

The industrial development of XVIIIth and XIXth centuries saw the development an important textile industry, supported since 1851 by fellmongery, new technique of separating the leather and wool that will make the fame and fortune of the country mazamétain. In the twentieth century Hautpoul gradually empties of its inhabitants to benefit the Valley Mazamet but today the village has rejuvenated: the old houses host to craftsmen and their workshops games and wooden toys, alleys and squares come alive without disturbing the tranquility of the place. In August, the company de la Rocque Hautpoul a living site and tells his story.

Mouahaha !!

On the first top a little Virgin Mary

and totally on, the biggest one <3

During ou ascent,
in the middle of the village we met a cat,
she started to follow us, till the first and then the second virgin Mary....
When we went down, she followed us again,
and left us at the same place we met her .....

It was strange actually,
the story tells that the village might be haunted .....
Maybe the cat was a kind of spirit or "ghost",
which look after people who go to visit the Virgin ...
To be sure no one get lost or else ?!
